Downhill Fantasy League

As the 2008 season came to an end, I thought to myself how cool it would be to be a downhill mountain bike team manager. Then I thought, I can be, not for real, but to have a 'dream team' of mountain bikers.
So, for the '2009 UCI Downhill World Cup', I bring to you. The 2009 UCI Downhill World Cup...Fantasy League!
So, for the '2009 UCI Downhill World Cup', I bring to you. The 2009 UCI Downhill World Cup...Fantasy League!
Right then. The aim of the game is to pick a team with a '2009 points' score of less than 1500, and for that team to score you as many points in 2009 as possible.
Your team will consist of:
0-6 riders. No more than 6, but you can have only 4 riders if you wish.
Riders from the top 150 of the Men's elite downhill category from 2008 (This includes all Juniors from the top 150 in 2008 too!)
Here's what your team should look like:
After the first 3 Rounds, you will be able to make two transfers to replace 2 riders. The total after these changes can add up to no more than 1500.
Here's the list of the riders...
Once you have your team. Email me your Team Name, Team (Including the points for each rider next to their name), Total Score, Your Name, and Your pinkbike Username at fantasydownhill@ymail.com.
Due to the amount of work involved, I will only be able to offer 50 places. On a first come, first served basis. The first 50 emails I receive will be accepted. BUT, if your email has any of the details I mentioned above missing, I won't bother to email you back, your email will just be ignored, so PLEASE get it right the first time.
Once all the teams are up in a database, I will post another blog with everyone who is competing, with their usernames.
After each round I will post a blog with the standings after that round.
Any questions should be PM'ed to my pinkbike account.
Enjoy and Good Luck.

Count me in
Since the tragic loss of Ben Ineson, and Tom Rodgers, Ben Ineson will for obvious reasons should not be included in people's teams.
ALL THE PLACES ARE FULL, please don't send any more emails. If your entry was recieved, and the entry was correct, and you were within the first 50 you will receive a confirmation email in the next few days
Thanks. Tim.
Thanks. Tim.
50? That's it? Pfff........I'd pay a small membership fee (to get in the next 50) if you need it for growth.
Just wondering if riders like Mick Hannah should be added in from his finish in 07 or is that getting to complicated?
I've thought hard about riders like Mick, and Shawn Palmer. What i'll do. Is make them available for the Transfers, after the first 3 races. I will do an average score they have scored in the first three, then see what their 'projected total' for the year will be, and use that score.
I did 3 'coz it said "This is what your team should look like..." so I assumed you could. Although starting to think I should have done 4 now.
has it reached 50 yet? i just added my entry. i've been thinking for years of trying to set something like this up. Credit to you for doing it!
email sent. hope it got it in in time. are there going to be any prizes awarded at the end of the season for the top teams?
Possibly. I'm running this off my own back, and prizes would be difficult to send out. Maybe for the winner, they could win a pack of pinkbike stickers. Don't go expecting anything though, depends how skint I am at the end! Haha.
thats cool. im just glad to have a fantasy league that pertains more to something i will actually enjoy keeping track of.
Three riders is cool. May not get you maximum points though. As I said 0-6 riders. I don't think it's possible to have more than 4 though...
should've picked Gracia...any guy that will drop the bike and change a tire for the swedish bikini team is a real humanitarian...............

you should hand this operation over to pinkbike so they could make it more legit, having more than 50 places
